Thriving as a Lawyer

A five part online course that addresses the top challenges faced by lawyers today including stress, burnout and work-life balance.
The intention of the course is to leave participants experiencing less stress, more resilience, improved productivity and increased all round performance.
Launched during Mental Health Awareness Week 2018 in which the theme is stress, this course is aimed at helping trainees and lawyers of all qualification levels thrive at work in a way that supports their mental wellbeing. Other professionals will also benefit from the course.

Week One - 17th May 2018, 7.30-8.30pm
INNATE HEALTH AND WELLBEING*
The course kicks off looking at innate health and wellbeing. We will start to explore fundamental principles behind how our minds work. and how we can access our wellbeing at any time. Understanding this enables you to navigate external challenges in a way that does not negatively impact your emotional, spiritual and mental wellbeing.
Week Two - 24th May, 2018, 7.30-8.30pm
Stress: the insurmountable enemy or all in our mind?*
We will explore in this session what stress really is and how it works. Understanding the root cause of stress changes our relationship with it. This in turn enables us to reduce both the amount of stress we experience and our risk of burnout.
Week Three - 31st May 2018, 7.30-8.30pm
"Those difficult people" and how to deal with them*
Perhaps the most challenging but also the most rewarding session, you will discover new ways of dealing with all of those difficult people in your life so that you experience more effective communication and better relationships all round.
Week Four - 7th June, 2018, 7.30-8.30pm
The myth of “work-life balance”*
This session will cast a new light on the concept of a heavy workload impacting our personal life so that you start to see how it operates in your own life differently and gain a fresh perspective on achieving balance in your life.
Week Five - 14th June, 2018, 7.30-8.30pm
live coaching session
An opportunity to bring any unanswered questions to the call. We will have an opportunity to further explore unlocking our full potential to perform at our best. Participants will be coached around the real issues they are dealing with and we will wrap up the course.
Course Details
Several days before each of the first four sessions, you will be sent a recorded audio file presented by Being Lawyers on the upcoming topic of the week. You should listen to the audio before attending each week's live session, which will provide the participants with an opportunity to discuss any issues or questions raised and go deeper into that topic.
*Attendance at sessions 1-4 inclusive, and listening to the corresponding audios, is necessary in order to benefit from the intended outcomes of the course. You will gain an understanding of your mind that will deepen each week and this understanding will be applied in turn to the different topics set out above.

Course Terms and Conditions
By completing your purchase, you agree to the following terms and conditions (the Agreement).
Definitions
In this Agreement, references to:
(a) Being Lawyers includes the partnership, the business and all its partners and representatives from time to time;
(b) Course mean the particular Being Lawyers course that you are participating in;
(c) Materials means all materials, presented written or orally, in relation to the Course.
Registration and Refund Policy
Your registration applies to the specific course and dates you have chosen. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Important Health Information and Participant Representations
You are responsible for your participation in the Course and for your own health and wellbeing at all times prior to, during and after your participation in the Course. The Course is not intended as a treatment for any mental health illness. If you are suffering from, potentially suffering from or are at risk of suffering from a mental health illness, it is advisable that you do not participate in the Course. If you are uncertain about whether you should participate, you should seek the advice of a mental health professional.
You represent that:
(a) you are not participating in the Course to handle any physical, mental or emotional problems and you fully understand that no portion of the Course is delivered or supervised by health professionals;
(b) you know of no reason that you should not participate in the Course; and
(c) you have considered the nature of the Course and have voluntarily chosen to participate.
You agree that you are responsible for your own participation in the Course and for your own physical, mental and emotional well being.
Confidentiality
We regard confidentiality to be of the utmost importance. You agree that:
(a) you will not in any way record all or any part of the Course; and
(b) you will not disclose any information about the participants in the Course including but not limited to their identity or actual or paraphrased comments.
You acknowledge that all Materials constitute commercially valuable, proprietary, intellectual property of Being Lawyers, the purchase, creation, design and development of which required the investment of substantial effort, time, and money. You understand that the Materials are the property of Being Lawyers and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws, and all rights in the Materials and the Course are expressly reserved by Being Lawyers.
You agree:
(a) not to reproduce, copy, or otherwise duplicate, and not to distribute, lend, or otherwise transfer in any form, the Materials;
(b) not to use the Materials in any way that would compromise the confidential nature and Being Lawyers’ proprietary rights in the Materials;
(c) not to sell any form of the Materials, or sell any product or service that is based on or even derived from the Materials; and
(d) not to assist another to do any of the above.
This includes, for example, sharing an online course link or pre-recorded audio or video file that has only been made available for your personal use with others.
Consent to Recording
You consent to the Course being recorded by Being Lawyers for internal use only. Being Lawyers may refer to the calls for internal research and development of its products up to a maximum period of 6 months following the completion of the course.
Enforcement
The failure of Being Lawyers to enforce any of its rights shall not be construed as a waiver of any of its rights at any time thereafter. If any part or parts of this Agreement shall be deemed invalid or unenforceable, then that part or parts shall be deemed severed from this Agreement and such severance shall not have any effect on the remaining portions of the Agreement.
The provisions of this Agreement shall be enforceable under the laws of, and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of, England and Wales; and that Being Lawyers shall have the right to pursue all legal and equitable remedies available to it, including injunctive or other extraordinary relief and damages if you breach this Agreement.
You acknowledge that any breach of this Agreement may cause Being Lawyers and/or the participants in the Course irreparable and substantial harm even though it may be impossible to ascertain the full monetary extent of their financial loss.
